Course Objective

The objective of this course is to enable a participant to become a Level II Magnetic Particle Inspector as set forth by ASNT TC1-A.  Participants will need to pass the ASNT test after successfully completing the course in order to be certified. This test can be given by a Level III MP Inspector in your own company.

Course Description:
Materials and activities in this class will be presented in structured lectures. Specific homework, quizzes and reading assignments will be included in each session as well as in-class work sheets and practical lab exercises.

Each class will begin with review of homework assignment and a quiz on materials covered in the previous class. Lectures will include handouts and samples as needed. Structured lab exercises will be conducted to demonstrate equipment use, calibration and operation.

This twenty-hour course will cover the following topics:

Principles of Magnetic Fields
Effect of Discontinuities of Materials
Magnetization by Means of Electric Current
Selecting the Proper Magnetization
Inspection Materials
Principles of Demagnetization
Magnetic Particle Test Equipment
Magnetic Particle Indication Interpretation
